Preparing Files for Printing

To ensure your file is optimized and ready for offset printing efficiently, we recommend following these guidelines:

File format

Always send the file in PDF format, preferably using the FOGRA39 color profile or, failing that, with the best possible quality.

Consolidated files

Avoid sending multiple files per page. The ideal is to consolidate everything in a single file

Graphic files

If the work includes images, be sure to send a folder with all the images used, to avoid broken link problems.

Bleeding

Make sure pages have at least 3mm bleed to ensure proper cutting

Page format

For projects such as magazines or books, it is preferable to send the file with individual pages instead of spreads

Pantones

If you use Pantone colors, convert them to process colors unless they are to be printed specifically as Pantone

Color profile

Save the file in CMYK format if printing will be offset, as this is the standard color space for this process

Image resolution

Make sure images are at least 300 dpi (pixels per inch) to ensure print quality

Fonts

Includes all fonts used, even if the texts are outlined, to avoid possible display problems. If possible, trace the fonts

File Cleanup

Remove any element off the artboard that is not going to be printed, to prevent it from appearing in the final result.
